Courses
The Training Team
Members of the training team are all Christians from a range of traditions and bring to the course a variety of backgrounds, training experiences and counselling expertise. All our tutors and facilitators have undergone extensive counselling training to diploma or degree level, are experienced counsellors in their own right and have considerable previous experience in counselling training.
Principal tutors
Kate SteeleMA Hons. Psychology; M Phil. Clinical PsychologyKate has worked as a Senior Clinical Psychologist within the NHS and has over twenty years of experience as a counsellor working in a variety of settings such as voluntary counselling and support agencies, mental health institutions, primary health care and in private practice. She has had many years of experience as a counsellor trainer and supervisor both within the NHS and in the context of voluntary Christian counselling agencies and at both Further and Higher Education levels. |

Maggie FordhamDip. Pastoral Counselling; HE Cert. Counselling Children and AdolescentsMaggie has worked as a counsellor for over ten years in a range of settings such as voluntary counselling agencies, educational settings and private practice. She has had considerable previous training and experience as a counsellor trainer and supervisor at both Further and Higher Education levels. |

Jane SimmondsMSc in CounsellingJane has over eight years of experience as a counsellor in a variety of settings such as voluntary counselling agencies (e.g. Marriage Care), primary health care and private practice. She has had considerable previous experience as a counsellor trainer and supervisor both in Further and Higher Education settings. |

Rachel WhittleB.Ed (Hons) Cantab, Dip. Pastoral Counselling Rachel's professional background is in education, having worked for ten years in a variety of teaching settings. She currently combines this with her private counselling practice for adults and youngsters, having a particular interest in the therapeutic use of the arts. |
